This was the Best Christmas Ever…
My family and close friends, Liz Curtis and her finance, Brian Faria, surprised me this Christmas by making arrangements to participate in the 26.2 Marathon with Donna- Finish Breast Cancer in my name as a 1-year survivor, and in memory of Brian’s mother, Maria Faria who passed away on, July 10, 2010 at the age of 61 from breast cancer.
The marathon will take place in Jacksonville, Florida on February 11 & 12, 2012.
I will also be walking in the names of Katie Valenti, age 26, daughter of close personal friends, Jamie Horgan, my neighbor’s sister (who both are presently recovering from breast cancer), and finally in honor of all the women who have walked this path before me providing the strength needed to move forward.
My son, Ben and Liz Curtis will represent team “Simply the Breast” in the half marathon with the rest of the family and myself participating in the 5K Run.
This is the only marathon that sends 100 percent of the proceeds and raised funds to breast cancer research and care through the Donna Foundation and the Mayo Clinic.
We invite everyone to join us in February down in sunny Jacksonville or if that is not possible, please consider donating to Team Simply the Breast by going to:

Thanks to family and friends who to date have contributed over $2300.00 to Team Simply the Breast. Amazing!
Look around you -1 in 8 women of all ages will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Join us by being a part of team “Simply the Breast” as we take each step with great joy anticipating and celebrating the finish: a world without breast cancer.
Like I said “The Best Christmas Ever” – Simply the Breast!
